Achieve

To carry out successfully” – is the dictionary meaning of this word. But is this all what it means to me in my life. No, wait… I see another meaning in the dictionary for this, “To get or attain as the result of exertion”. Now what does this mean…? You need to stress yourself with sustained effort and keep doing things to get results.

Well, the second definition suits my life perfectly. Yes, all these years my success in academics was a pure result of this. Hard work, hard work, …hard work…. all the while, no friends.... no fun. But is that what life is all about…achieving things?

Life is very beautiful, and as one of my friends often quotes “Being happy is the most important thing in life”. Yes, true. Let me ask myself one question…. Did this word “Achieve” make me happy in life? Yes, truly it did, but then I was recipient of more pain than gain by achieving things.

All these years, I have been blinded by the fact “Hard work is the only key to success” that I got to hear from my parents, my relatives, and my environment. What is the success that we talk of here? Success in life? No, it is the success in any endeavor that you do, academics, work-related, etc. What is true success in life? What do you need to achieve for obtaining success…. is a different question itself.

Well, I am not one who says, don’t do hard work and laze around…if perhaps people are mistaken by the way I have been writing so far. But recently, I woke up to reality by understanding what does this word mean in my life.

“Achieve” – Not just results of your hard work, but happiness in having lived a fruitful life, which benefits not just one, but also all friends and others near and around you.

Before I end up this topic, let me see, this being my first blog…Hmm…. Shouldn’t I make that interesting? Well, let us see if anyone can figure out what I am trying to say in the first six posts of this blog… Keep reading and post your valuable comments on my thoughts. Well, keep guessing…for the next title on my blog ;-)

Very well written.
You stressed it correctly what is achievement. It cannot be quantified and will vary with people. Glad that you are able to see the bigger picture. Stay happy and you have achieved everything.
I guess the next blog will start letter Y ???? hehehe. Keep blogging.

Really Good One, all these days we have been looking only at one side of the coin and always thinking and worrying about the future...which is important but in the process we are forgetting our present which is more important than that...live life to the fullest and feel always happy to chase your dreams no matter what...because that's what makes one unique...and keep enjoying the present...
Cheers!!!
